StoneX Obtains ASX Derivatives Clearing and Trading Membership
StoneX Financial Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of StoneX Group Inc. (“StoneX”; NASDAQ: SNEX), has become a direct clearing and trading member of ASX, marking yet another significant milestone in StoneX Group’s expansion across the Asia Pacific ("APAC") region.
StoneX’s new status as an ASX derivatives clearing and trading member provides domestic and international customers looking to trade on the ASX with an alternative provider of access to the Australian derivatives market. With its broad market access, and 24-hour operational service and efficiency, StoneX already facilitates execution and clearing services across multiple asset classes on all major global exchanges for a wide range of customers.
Nick Orssich, Senior Vice President - Derivatives at StoneX, emphasised the significance of the new ASX membership, stating, "Amidst a backdrop of constrained domestic market access, StoneX’s entry as an ASX clearing and trading member addresses the urgent demand for more options for traders to access on-exchange financial services. With our core strengths in risk management and a broad offering with multiple channels for low-touch electronic market access, StoneX is ready to service global customers on their trading and hedging needs on the ASX. We are also looking forward to the exciting opportunities presented by the upcoming launch of carbon futures."
In anticipation of its ASX membership and targeted expansion into the Australian market, StoneX has grown its sales and execution team in Australia with a focus on strengthening its market-leading position in the commodities sector and boosting its capabilities and expertise in the equity and rates futures complex. For StoneX, which has a global financial services franchise encompassing key centres in Sydney, Singapore, London, and New York amongst others, this strategic expansion in Australia aims to further consolidate its position as a leading provider of comprehensive financial services, offering clients access to a full range of global capabilities across derivatives, securities, forex, payments, and prime services – all from a single, trusted partner.
Greg Kallinikos, Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific at StoneX, commented, "StoneX prides itself on providing its customers with institutional-grade global market access and deep expertise. We are excited to have become a clearing and trading member of the ASX in upholding our commitment to continue growing our APAC capabilities for our customers. We look forward to utilising our ASX membership to strengthen our partnership with long-standing customers we have served in this market for years, as well as building lasting relationships with new customers interested in everything ASX has to offer, as we continue to expand StoneX’s world-class financial services franchise in APAC.”
